Gearing up for Children in Need

06/11/2020

We’re gearing up to support Children in Need next Friday with a variety of activities to raise vital funds for this important charity. Find out more below…

Sponsored read

We’re holding a sponsored read for Children in Need during form time. Pupils have received their sponsor form and sponsorship is due by Monday 16 November via the JustGiving page: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/accordcin

Pudsey wear

On Friday 13 November all pupils will be able to show their support for Children in Need by wearing Pudsey paraphernalia!

Pudsey ears will be sold on the day, priced at £2.50 – correct change will be necessary to minimise the handling of money, to stay safe.

Pupils must wear their normal Horbury Academy uniform but can add the additional Pudsey Bear bling on the day….Bring along spare cash to donate (or use the above link) and help us raise money for Children in Need.

Cake sale

Each day next week, throughout break and lunch, pupils will be able to buy Children in Need themed cookies at a cost of £1 from the Restaurant or atrium café.

Do you want to be the proud owner of a giant Pudsey Bear?

Then you’ll need to guess its name to be in with a chance to win! You’ll have a chance to visit our ‘guess the bear’ stalls before school, at break and lunch on Friday 13th.

Sponsored bike ride

Next Friday, at break and lunch, pupils will be able to take part in a sponsored bike ride in return for a donation.

Penalty shoot-out

During designated time slots on 13th, pupils will be able to take part in a penalty shoot-out. The cost of this event will be 50p for 3 attempts at goal and 20p to watch.

We’ll make sure our events are COVID-safe, using PPE as appropriate and cleaning equipment down before/after use.

Thank you, as ever, for your support!

The Accord Multi Academy Trust is an educational charity established in September 2016 that is currently made up of four academies who were the founding members of the Trust. In September 2016 Horbury Academy and Ossett Academy & Sixth Form College came together, moving away from their stand-alone Trust status and were joined in December 2016 by Horbury Primary Academy and Middlestown Primary Academy.

The overarching vision for the Trust is to work in one ‘Accord – celebrating the differences of each academy through strong collaboration in order to inspire all members of our learning community to be the best that they can be.
