2021/2022: Admissions Policy Consultation

The Board of Trustees of the Accord Multi Academy Trust is currently consulting on proposed changes to Horbury Academy’s Admissions Policy for the 2021/2022 school year.

The area for consultation surrounds the oversubscription criterion which is used to determine a child’s priority for a school place from September 2021.

The proposed changes include the addition of  new oversubscription criterion giving priority to children who are attending a feeder school or academy in the Horbury Academy Pyramid of schools.

Applicants to Horbury Academy would continue to apply using the Wakefield Council’s online application system.

This consultation will run from Monday December 2019 through until Friday 31 January 2020.

Responses to the consultation are invited to be made to Mrs N Walker,  Principal by Friday 31 January 2020, using the e-mail enquiries@horbury.accordmat.org

Should you require any further information about the proposed changes to the Admissions Policy, please contact Mrs M Turner, PA to the Principal on enquiries@horbury.accordmat.org

The Academy’s proposed Admissions Policy is available below. A paper copy is also available on request from the Academy by contacting 01924 282740.

The Accord Multi Academy Trust is an educational charity established in September 2016 that is currently made up of four academies who were the founding members of the Trust. In September 2016 Horbury Academy and Ossett Academy & Sixth Form College came together, moving away from their stand-alone Trust status and were joined in December 2016 by Horbury Primary Academy and Middlestown Primary Academy.

The overarching vision for the Trust is to work in one ‘Accord – celebrating the differences of each academy through strong collaboration in order to inspire all members of our learning community to be the best that they can be.
