2022/2023: Admissions Policy Consultation

The Board of Trustees of the Accord Multi Academy Trust is currently consulting on proposed changes to Horbury Academy’s Admissions Policy for the 2022/2023 school year. Please see attached letter for further details regarding these proposals.

Applicants to Horbury Academy would continue to apply using Wakefield Council’s online application system. 

This consultation will run from 7 December 2020 through until 31 January 2021.

The Academy’s proposed Admissions Policy is available on the Academy’s website. A paper copy is also available on request from the Academy by contacting 01924 282740.

We look forward to receiving any responses from interested parties and in response will decide on our final admission arrangements. Those decisions will be published on our website by 15th March 2021.

2021/2022: Admissions Policy Consultation

Horbury Academy consulted on its admissions policy for 2021/22 during December 2019 and January 2020. The Board of Trustees reviewed the consultation feedback , all of which was positive, at their meeting on 10th February 2020. Trustees approved the new policy which can be found below.



Horbury Academy admissions for 2020/2021 are controlled and administered by Wakefield Local Authority in line with their published policies.

The Accord Multi Academy Trust is an educational charity established in September 2016 that is currently made up of four academies who were the founding members of the Trust. In September 2016 Horbury Academy and Ossett Academy & Sixth Form College came together, moving away from their stand-alone Trust status and were joined in December 2016 by Horbury Primary Academy and Middlestown Primary Academy.

The overarching vision for the Trust is to work in one ‘Accord – celebrating the differences of each academy through strong collaboration in order to inspire all members of our learning community to be the best that they can be.
