Parent/Carer Update – Thursday 19th March 2020, 7:00pm

The academy remains open for all pupils on Friday 20th March, with the exception of Years 8 and 9. Pupils from these year groups should not attend the academy. However, parents within the emergency services, particularly the NHS, and those whom require specific support in terms of supervision should feel free to continue to send pupils to the academy. Where this is the case, I would kindly request that pupils in these year groups report to the Main Hall to be registered.

As previously outlined, in line with the Government’s position, our academy will close for all pupils at 2.45pm on Friday 20th March. Next week we will remain open as a Trust only for the children of key workers, and for our most vulnerable pupils.

Please complete the linked survey by 3pm Fri if you you are an eligible key worker and need your child to attend the Academy from Monday. https://bit.ly/33AQ9Hw

A letter has now been issued to all parents/carers to provide further information about the arrangements for the directed closure and to seek information from parents/carers to establish whether you are a key worker. This letter can be found below.

We thank you again for your continued support.

The Accord Multi Academy Trust is an educational charity established in September 2016 that is currently made up of four academies who were the founding members of the Trust. In September 2016 Horbury Academy and Ossett Academy & Sixth Form College came together, moving away from their stand-alone Trust status and were joined in December 2016 by Horbury Primary Academy and Middlestown Primary Academy.

The overarching vision for the Trust is to work in one ‘Accord – celebrating the differences of each academy through strong collaboration in order to inspire all members of our learning community to be the best that they can be.
