Home learning has always been a vital part of a child’s development, and this is no different at secondary school.
In fact, studies by the Department for Education show that pupils who regularly complete their home learning tasks achieve over a grade higher than those who do not.
This has a particularly high impact when home learning is something that is completed together with parental engagement.
What sort of home learning will my child be expected to do?
Home learning will never be set just to follow a rigid timetable. We believe that home learning should complement the work completed in school, extend the learning within the subject of recap and revise past learning.
As a guide, core subjects may set homework once or twice a fortnight and, for subjects with less timetable time, homework will be set perhaps once or twice a half-term.
