This virtual event has a very specific focus. It’s about providing information, guidance and support ahead of the exams to support your children in order to achieve the best grades that they can by the end of the summer term.

Below you will find an insight into the work taking place this year, focussing on how parents/carers can support their children throughout their last year at Horbury Academy. This is designed to equip parents, carers and students with the tools they need to be successful, with a particular focus on English, Mathematics and Science.

Year 11 pupils have made an excellent start to their final year. It is pleasing to see so many pupils working so hard and they clearly recognise the significance of achieving good qualifications. Staff in the academy have commented on their enthusiasm, focus and motivation.

Key to their continued success is the guidance and support offered by school and, crucially, parents and carers. We hope that this virtual event will be really useful in enabling parents and carers to support their child in making the very most from the time that remains here.

Thank you once more for your on-going support.

The Accord Multi Academy Trust is an educational charity established in September 2016 that is currently made up of four academies who were the founding members of the Trust. In September 2016 Horbury Academy and Ossett Academy & Sixth Form College came together, moving away from their stand-alone Trust status and were joined in December 2016 by Horbury Primary Academy and Middlestown Primary Academy.

The overarching vision for the Trust is to work in one ‘Accord – celebrating the differences of each academy through strong collaboration in order to inspire all members of our learning community to be the best that they can be.
