Up to date information on pupils transferring to Horbury Academy in September 2024

As we move towards September, we need to ensure we have the most up to date information about you and your child, so that we can begin to contact you directly, rather than through your primary school.

Once you have a confirmed place at Horbury we will contact you with an electronic form to complete with up to date information on.

Key Dates for 2024

  • March 2024

Offer of school places confirmed and initial letter of welcome sent to every parent/carer of pupils who have a place at Horbury Academy starting in September 2024.

  • 21 March 2024 – Year 6 Parent and Carer Information Evening

This information evening was for all parents, carers and pupils who have a place with us starting in September 2024. It was great to see some many parents, carers and pupils in attendance.

  • 25 and 26 June 2024 – Year 6 Taster Days

To support with transition, we will welcome pupils to Horbury Academy for two days. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet up, experience the life of Horbury Academy and feel more confident joining us in September. We cannot wait to meet you. Further information will be available nearer the date.

  • 25 June – Year 6 Parent and Carer Welcome Evening

This welcome evening is for all parents, carers and pupils who have a place with us starting in September 2024. Watch out for more information on this event on our social media platforms and on our website.

Transition Guide 2024-2025

The Accord Multi Academy Trust is an educational charity established in September 2016 that is currently made up of four academies who were the founding members of the Trust. In September 2016 Horbury Academy and Ossett Academy & Sixth Form College came together, moving away from their stand-alone Trust status and were joined in December 2016 by Horbury Primary Academy and Middlestown Primary Academy.

The overarching vision for the Trust is to work in one ‘Accord – celebrating the differences of each academy through strong collaboration in order to inspire all members of our learning community to be the best that they can be.
